New Zealand Falcon showing off

Really delighted to see this bird sitting on a peg on a piece of land marked out for a new vineyard, Endemic to NZ their conservation status is 'Threatened'there has been a local programme for a few years to breed and release as possible vineyard 'bird scarers'. This one seemed big enough to be a female - showing off her reddish brown pantaloons ! I fell out of the truck clutching camera, got a couple of shots before she took off - no didn't get that, too slow...well actually quite shocked to see it sitting there. Not as sharp as I'd like but you take what you gets eh !
