Fields of Gold

It was cloudy when I set out a little later for my walk with Fergus.  But gradually the clouds started to clear and the sun came out for sporadic intervals.  By the time we got to the halfway point in our walk the sun was lighting up the field in front of us and shining on the Meadowbank Station hill.

Whenever I see fields of wheat or barley gleaming in the summer sun I cannot help but think of Eva Cassidy, my favourite singer, singing her haunting version of “Fields of Gold”……..
