Adonis Bronze Foundry

This is the small pour area of the foundry that does my work. There is another industrial sized area that does the monumental pieces, but they weren't going to pour today. That crucible of molten bronze is 2200 degreesF...a bit toasty. The crucible is held up by that chain on a swinging arm that you can see. That pour is about 300 lbs. of bronze. My total pour for this trip was about 380 lbs. The bison herd alone is about 155 lbs. The Andalusian is 50 lbs. The other pieces are smaller.
Anyway, this is where the Cape Buffalo and Cheyenne Warrior will be cast into bronze. This is just one part of the 8 to 10 weeks work on each piece from clay to bronze.
