Allotment again

Took advantage of a lovely morning to continue with getting the patch ready for the spring. Walked up to the allotment with the pallet we acquired on Sunday on the wheelbarrow and called in at a house on the way that had a pallet in their garden.

The lady was in but had to ask her husband if he had any plans for the pallet but would ring us up tomorrow to let us know. It turned out that the lady was the mother of a girl who Susan used to know when she was riding so they had quite a conversation on the doorstep.

We eventually arrived at the allotment after Susan had to go back for the keys (which I'd left in the shed at home) and her camera. We also stopped to talk to an allotment holder about this and that so it took us longer than expected actually to start any work.

Susan hoed and weeded and generally tidied up while I sorted out the shed, putting up a tool rack, fixing some shelves and put everything its place. I also installed the pallet - just one more required to complete the 5 bay assembly for dealing with all our waste. Didn't quite have enough time to spread the well rotted horse manure on the potato bed. That's the next job.
