Derelict Thursday

This underpass connects the road we lived in when we first moved to Street (which is on the other side of the by-pass), with the rest of the village.

It's always been a target for graffiti but a few years ago a series of engraved artworks, created by local young people with the support of schools and youth clubs, were installed, depicting a range of activities that the local youth were interested in.

Sadly they 've fallen victim to more graffiti over the years. I'm all for artistic graffiti which brightens up an otherwise dull space, but it seems a shame for the efforts of a number of young people to be spoilt like this.

Anyway, off to foreign climes tomorrow. I'll be posting whenever wi-fi connections allow, but I suspect time for commenting may be more limited.
