Arch

Drove down to Hexham in awful weather - a rain, sleet and snow mixed up in a ferocious wind from the west. Went via the A1 although it was the long way round; even so the high-sided vehicles were all driving very cautiously and were getting visibly buffetted by the wind.

Everyone arrived safely including J who had been in Surrey last night and had to attend a funeral in Durham en route. No wonder his car had started limping. After a slightly tentative first set we seemed to find our groove somewhat in the second - very enjoyable, and the audience were extremely indulgent. Mr H and I retired to the luxury of a room in a local hostelry, rather then risk driving home in the teeth of the gale.

We had nipped out for a drink and a toastie between setting up and performing and this arch was somewhere en route - it was very wet indeed, so I didn't hang about.
