Winter Sunrise

The morning is calling and I must go. I catch sunrise at the same country lane where I met it yesterday. No ring of fire this time, the sun wobbles up through purple clouds and sends pink ripples through the sky. A flock of birds flies across the sun. Smoke rises from a nearby chimney. The same cows from yesterday eye me with quiet interest. A few flurries fly past and land silently on the snowy ground. The winter sun rises: let the day begin!

The soundtrack: Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, From the Beginning.
