On the doorstep

‘Gavin’s Onion’ all the way from the Isle of Wight.

The doorstep isn't mine but belongs to K & P who live just down the road from where I used to live some 30 years ago but we’ve remained good friends.  Had some work deliveries in the lunch hour which took me fairly near to K & P, so I walked that little bit further and rang the 'Cuckoo call’ doorbell in the hope they were in,  not only to wish them a Happy New Year but also in the hope that the Snowdrops and other early Spring plants were out in their delightful garden.    Double delight;  they were in and the Snowdrops, Primroses, Helebores and Hamamelis (Witch Hazel)  were all blooming.  Even though they were having lunch they appreciated the necessity for a quick Blip and accompanied me outside!!  On the down side the sun was shining brightly, the sheets were on the washing line and in the way and I didn’t have a lot of time to get any good shots of the plants so instead I give you ‘Gavin’s large onion’ all the way from the Isle of Wight, grown there by K & P’s friends who brought this and other goodies over when they visited them at Christmas.    We agreed that the last of ‘Gavin’s onions’ was more than past its culinary best by now!!

I missed posting yesterday due to extra long work day but have now managed to post 'Just a Tulip' and was overjoyed to see that we can now choose a thumbnail - hopefully 'preview before publishing' will be next?
