Snow and ice

Yet more snow over night, nice snow, the soft, dry, fluffy stuff. A few blips I could have chosen but the view from the Udale bay bird hide won the day.
The mountains covered in snow looked marvellous. The building covered in blue is Kirkmichael. A church has stood on the same site over looking Udale bay since 1429. This is the second Church built and is now in a derelict state. The snow and storms of the last few years have caused the delicate roof to finally fall in. It was last used as a church over 200 years ago and is has 'since been managed by local estate owners'.
A Kirkmichael trust has been formed and with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland , Highland Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise  £603,000 has been raised so nearly at the total of £706,000 needed for the restoration project to go a head.
The chimney belongs to Kirkton Farm and is the tallest on the Black Isle.
It was a lovely drive back through snow covered trees.
It was great to see children out on their sledges with all their families.
