Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 -- The Encore!

The sunset from "pre" show to "post" show was spectacularly stunning today. We were actually walking along the shoreline when the sun all of a sudden was veiled by clouds. That was at least 45 minutes before sunset.

We finished our walk with the three pups and headed to the house so we could watch the show from here.

The vivid colors were impossible to capture with my iPhone, but I do think this photo reveals some of the wonder.

This has been a good day. We left the house early to get to the "Friends of the Library" book sale this morning. We both purchased a couple of items. Then we drove to the Seniors Thrift Store. We were looking for Mason Jars. Since discovering the "Soup Lady" at the local Farmers Market and that she uses the jars to sell her soup, we're going to get some when we find them, and we found one at the thrift store today.

We arrived back home mid-day and Mr. Fun fixed us a delicious lunch. He had cooked a pot of red kidney beans and doctored it with lots of veggies: bok choy, celery, onion, and (I think I'm forgetting something), and the combo sure made a delicious meal. I have mentioned here in Blip that we've been on a vegan diet since December 4, when Mr. Fun's doctor explained to him that if he wanted to stay healthy and live a long time to enjoy his retirement home, it was time to stop eating meat of any kind and all animal products (no milk, no cheese, no eggs, etc.). Mr. Fun's most recent blood work is proving the doctor to be collect. His test scores have gone back to normal range -- Amazing.

Then late afternoon we walked the three pooches on the sand and again we found a handful of beautiful sea glass. We also found a handful of pretty pebbles and shells that have been worm smooth.

After our walk we came home to enjoy the sunset show and then we enjoyed a fabulous dinner from the "Farmer's Market Soup Lady" that we purchased yesterday. (See yesterday's blip.)
