Clacket Lane

A busy day of housework and then a three hour round trip to Gatwick. On the way back the low sun lit up the old oakwoods bordering the M23/M25 junction.  I pulled into Clacket Lane services to see if a blip might be possible. The sun was setting and later produced a fantastic roaring red sunset. I could but glimpse it as we sped for home. I'd already been moved along at Gatwick for trying to get a picture of some trees.

Apparently Clacket Lane was going to be called 'Titsey Woods Services' but the name was changed at the last minute before the opening in 1993. It does feature almost daily on traffic reports in the vein of 'and the stationary traffic now tails back to Clacket Lane on the anticlockwise M25'.
