Santa and the Polar Express

Today we had a very special treat for CJ. We had tickets to go on the Santa train (and train looked exactly like the Polar Express).

We arrived there with plenty of time to spare, so while CJ, LJ and S2 had a look at the train, I brought some morning tea for the cafe before boarding.

We had a booth to ourselves so CJ spread out and tucked into his biscuit and juice, while waving at everyone outside on the platform. Once the train was on its way Santa made his way down the carriage. He spent quite a bit of time with everyone, asking every child what they wanted for Xmas and handing out presents to all the good boys and girls!

On the way back to station we had a good old fashioned sing-a-long with an accordion player. Although all the excitement was a bit much for LJ, who had spent the whole trip looking at everything - he fell fast asleep despite all the noise.

Once back at the station we headed down to front of the train to watch they move and attach the engine to the front of the train again. We then started talking to the driver and support crew and they showed CJ how the fires work and the coal that is fed I to them - even giving him a piece to take home.

We then waved to the train as it departed the station for the next run.

It was then time to head home before everyone got a little cold.
