barrier

+1/2 has been getting back into running; she's a far better runner that I will ever be but was plagued by knee problems stopping the running. As luck would have it there's a friendly sports therapist not far away that took one look at the knee and recommended immediate amputation.

Actually, he very quickly diagnosed some overly tight glutes and a fallen instep leading to one side of the leg being stretched all the time. Special shoe inserts and some bun kneading and +1/2 is a new woman! Today was the first 10km run; to say she's pleased is an understatement.

Otherwise a quiet day. Music for today was a mixture of Green Day (for +1/3's guitar lessons he's learning Boulevard of Broken Dreams; the last time I listened to the entire album was when +1/3 was about 2 and we were on holiday in France) and Albert King.

Albert if probably my favourite of the three blues Kings; I love the tight and full on band - the Memphis Horns played on his funeral procession - as well as the soloing. He could really make those big bends - probably helped by his unusual tuning - C#-G#-B-E-G#-C#.
