Bramham Windmill

This is Bramham windmill (remains) taken from one of the many hedge lined lanes that criss-cross the fields around here.

Very cold in the northerly wind today - so I didn't hang around long to take photographs. I was hoping that the sunlight, which had been intermittent, would light up the mill for me - but it was not to be.

This particular lane actually has a tarmac surface underneath all the grass and mud! They obviously never kept up with the weeding. It is barely more that the width of a tractor - and one has been up there recently to cut the hedge on one side!

There were loads of birds (mostly yellowhammers and a few goldfinches) flitting around in the hedges and it was quite noisy!
