Shepherd's warning?

Well, yes - it's snowing now, some 11 hours after I took this pre-sunrise photo from my window. The sky over the Gourock hills is less spectacular than when I first opened my eyes, but I had to brace myself to get up and find my phone on such a chilly morning.

The ferry making the crossing to Gourock is the Coruisk, a car ferry that is not allowed to carry cars on this key route. This boat is used this winter to make up for the fact that the so-called "bathtub boats" that usually make the crossing are not fit for the job and go off at the first zephyr.
