The Pencil

There is a very nice local tradition in Rotterdam, the locals re-name every landmark into something they feel more appropriate.


In this case this is officially called the Blaak Tower and is designed by Piet Blom - the designer of the cube houses neighboring this flat - but the locals refer to this as 'the pencil' and I'm sure you can see why.


This shot is made from within the metro stations roof adds an extra dimension in my humble opinion.
