Butte Du Lion

It's been a really hot sunny day today, 26 degrees!! We set out to meet friends, but as the forecast was for rain and storms, Alan had his rucksack packed with waterproofs just in case!

I laughed and said that because we'd gone prepared, it would be lovely and we wouldn't need them, which it was - so poor Alan had to carry it around all day ;-)

Anyway, we went to the local Sunday morning brocante and then to the Butte du Lion which I blipped a couple of months ago. We sat outside and had lunch and then we walked up the 226 steps to the top of the Lion mound.

The views are amazing across the battle fields, and on a clear day you can see as far as Brussels. I took some close up photos of the Lion, but you don't get a perspective of how high up it is, so I decided on this photo looking up the steps to it.
