Goings on at HotelReed

Stargazing!

The sky was beautifully clear tonight so we took a trip up to the the Mills Observatory and got a good view of Jupiter (and some of its moons which have eclipsing each other this month) and our moon (I recognise this one!!).

We also got to see Comet Lovejoy on its closest trip to Earth (only 44 million miles away) for the 8,000 years!! To the untrained eye it is a green blurry splodge ...

Easily spottable (and also recognisable!) were The Plough and Orion who was sporting his fashionable Belt!

CrocGirl and LittleSis were full of knowledgeable information ... of which I knew nothing about!! Venus' day is longer than its year ... who knew?!
