Frozen Ring

I make jewellery. When I do, I often heat my metal pieces with a blow torch to soften the metal and make it more pliable to work with (annealing). I did this to this ring, then dropped it in my dish of water to quench, ummm - nothing happened!

It just kinda sat on top, then gradually sank.

Think my studio is a bit cold?
