We Were There

Myself and son Andy were fortunate to get tickets to the FA Cup Fourth Round Tie between Bristol City and West Ham thanks to a very kind work colleague who is a season ticket holder (and maybe soon-to-be blipper???).

This was a tricky one for us as we live in Bristol, have been to many Bristol City games over the years but are West Ham United fans. Despite sitting amongst the home supporters we were very well behaved and not once joined in with a chorus of.. I'm forever blowin bubbles… - West Ham's theme song if you didn't know(!).

We had a brilliant afternoon, visiting The Pump House Inn before the match, one of the City ground's bars during the match and The Rose of Denmark, The Grain Barge and the Drawbridge after the match. A bus ride home topped off with pizzas with a bottle of Cornish Ale for supper. Can't wait for the TV match highlights!

By the way, I almost forgot to mention that West Ham clinched a victory with a late goal against a spirited Bristol City performance and a 0-0 draw seemed the most likely result up to that point. C'mon you Irons.
