Important Job

Our bonus for today when visiting the town of Zaachila was arriving just at the time a wedding was almost over (the religious ceremony anyway).
Weddings are wonderfully festive occasions and it's fun to see them leave the church.
We sat on some high steps and waited, along with the band, dancers, and other merry makers, for the appearance of the bride and groom. As they leave the church fireworks blast, ladies in colorful skirts twirl, onlookers and guests blow bubbles (instead of throwing rice),and the brass band blares lively music.
These young boys took quite seriously their job of holding up the end of the bride's  very long veil!
