Kirkwall Boat Slip

We had an unexpected trip to the hospital in Kirkwall this morning.  Had to get my wrist splinted as I've developed an interesting condition called De Quervain's tenosynovitis - commonly known as Washerwoman's Thumb! Probably something to do with all the knitting!!!

It's basically an overuse of the joint resulting in swelling and inflammation of the tendon sheath.  I've been taking painkillers for the last couple of weeks to no avail, so this is the next step.

While we were in town we caught up with some bits and pieces, had a mooch around the boats and then lunch in Helgi's, during a snow storm!
