Obsolete

We have an old Bisley filing cabinet that's missing a shelf bracket. Having had superb customer service from Bisley before with a string of lost cabinet keys in the office I used to work in, it was no surprise to me that I was asked to send in a photo of the bracket, and that I received a reply with 10 minutes. Sadly that reply was that the bracket is obsolete...

Later, trying to figure out how to best extend our wifi network into newly discovered rooms, I find that the Powerline adaptor I bought 6 months ago is now obsolete.

The times they are a-changin'...

And tonight we speed watched the second half of The Wrong Mans first series before the first episode of the second series is, you guessed it, obsolete on iPlayer.

(How long can I keep it up?)

Today the electricians arrived to sort out our un-electrified rooms. The lovely Jan was very patient during our long search for the location of our earth system: he knew it existed, but not where, and no-one knew who there was an earth wire hanging out of the wall. The earth finally found, we decided the wire was extra to requirements... No-one knows why it is there. Mysterious, but possibly 'obsolete' is pushing it.

Anyway, there are now lights and sockets in all habitable rooms, the curtains are closer to the end point, and a window pane has been replaced with something more transparent than cardboard (glass).

Tomorrow will see curtains, glazing, taxi-driving and the delightful re-emergence of painting in sub-zero temperatures. But at least the lighting is better now.

We are worried that top fish may soon be obsolete (still running with it), but TallGirl feels confident that half a pea tomorrow will see him right.
