As part of our planned extension, the kitchen is getting a refurb.  Phoned Aga customer services this afternoon to enquire about:-

A.  The feasibility of relocating the Aga to another part of the kitchen.
B.  Rough estimate of costs.

The good news is it is feasible.    Yay.

The bad news is my eyes are still watering at the cost!!!!!! 

Also she didn't include what it will cost to relocate and extend the flue or reinforce the floor if it needs it (thankfully I think the floor is strong enough).

And depending on the time of year, it could be two months or longer from the time they dismantle it till the time they return to re-assemble it.

Hmmmmm.....I suspect a re-think of kitchen lay-out is required.

Oh and the architect has broken his ankle.

Honestly, if it wisnae fur bad luck, we'd hae nae luck!
