The Gods are in Town

Mela is nearly in full swing.. most of the Gods have arrived and are sitting in the arena, attending the music, dance and singing of ancient and interminable tunes.
The local villages all bring their gods down to meet up for the annual shindig - Naggar being the old capitol of the area collects many of these - who all make their steep and winding ways from the villages around. Borne by strong mountain shoulders they parade down in their shiny finery heralded by drums and horns all the way.. with a small accompanying entourage of all ages. Now they sit, witnessing the latest in oh such a long line of Himalayan rave ups - if that isn't too disrespectful.. The crowds every night are growing - to peak in a few days - and the growing numbers are laying siege to the candy floss, cheap plastic tat and jelebi stalls.
Not only the gods - all the elders are arrayed in their best shawls, hats and blankets - all in all the best (if only) show in town.. and to top it all - the 'Ferris Wheel' is nearly operational!
