Are they nearly here yet?

It was a day of marigolds, dusters and detergents, getting the house in order for D and C's visit. Mr R did remark that I may have been confused, thinking the queen was coming instead. Men just don't get the whole 'tidy house when visitors are coming' thing. It's more a 'take me as you find me, socks on the floor' approach for them.

Miss A was extremely excited as D&C would be bringing their beautiful dog, Ziggy. From breakfast onwards, at hourly intervals, she kept asking 'Will D, C & Z be here soon?', her equivalent of the eternal 'Are we nearly there yet?' question. The excitement obviously got too much mid afternoon and she hid herself under a blanket and crashed.

A lovely evening was had and the kids loved having Ziggy to chase around. The adults were relatively well behaved although we didn't get to bed 'til 3am. Punishing really, when the kids are up again at 7am. Will we ever learn? Probably not.
