Birds In Abundance

We took a drive into the hills to Northam, a small country town East of Perth.
We sat on the riverbank Glyn reading the Saturday paper and I went down the steps of the banking to take some Waterbird shots, so many waterbirds on the river today, perhaps water is scarce for many of the wading birds they fly in as soon as they smell water, the spoonbill was doing just that, there was only two white swans here today the only place in W.A to see a white swan, there were 3 cygnets in the breeding pens,.
A few black swans were amongst the black Ducks, coots, geese, grebes and cormorants..
It would have been great to catch both black and White swans together but both gave each other a very wide margin, not to be Im afraid..

It has been very overcast fortunately with a cool breeze, the lighting was very poor for taking photographs, blip has made me very picky I wouldn't have noticed the bad light at one time..
