Paris

We've walked miles today! Firstly we went to Fauchon at Place de la Madeleine for breakfast, and then caught the metro to Montparnasse. I wanted to go up the Montparnasse Tower which is 689 feet tall and has one of the best views of Paris, because from there you can see the Eiffel Tower.

The lift takes you to the 56th floor in 38 seconds, and then you can take stairs to the roof on the 59th floor where there's a 360 degree viewing platform.

From there we walked to Les Jardins de Luxembourg, then onto Place de la Sorbonne where we had lunch. We then walked down to the Seine and crossed at the river on the bridge where everyone locked padlocks to it (Pont des Arts). When we were here a couple of years ago, it looked lovely as there were padlocks all along the bridge, but now the sides of the bridge have been boarded up as there are so many padlocks that the weight of them has broken the barriers. Despite this there are still people selling padlocks!

We carried on our walk through the gardens of the Palais Royale to the Gallerie Vivienne where we stopped for a drink.

We've been back at the hotel for a couple of hours and are now getting ready to go out for dinner - it's non-stop in Paris, but I love it!
