Keeping Your Nose Clean

A frequent complaint of Mexico by north of the border citizens is that the people here are not very good at maintenance. Capital projects are wonderful, every administration seems to have list of things to be built - whether they be parks, roads, or other structures - but none seem to pay attention to what is already in place. This morning, next to our local basketball court (which was rebuilt three years ago), I came across this young man cleaning one of our seven town statues. Hopefully this signals a new trend in preserving what is here, while containing to build new and better facilities for the people of Zihuatanejo.
