Between floors

Only photos I took today were to record the stairway between the first and second floors in our condo that have been painted like this at least 20 years..in my “paint everything that can be painted”  phase.   There are 4 steps leading to this first landing. In my present mood to “simplify” I’m about to paint it a nice medium warm brown.  And hang family photos on that wall.  It will be a new look but it’s about time… or maybe overdue.

The "column" wasn't really crooked -just couldn't easily make it straiter from the wide angle. :-)   It has a light in the top we are hoping to figure out how to make work...
