Morecambe promenade in the sunshine.

Of all the photos I took, this was my favourite.
Loved the shadows of MrC and friends, the Art Deco Midland hotel in the distance, and the beautiful blue sky reflected in the sea.

What you can't see on this photo is a view of the Lakeland Fells covered in snow across the bay. Just magical today.

Most people choose to go on the train from Leeds to Carlisle, but we prefer Leeds to Morcambe, and on a winters day like today it was perfect.
A wonderful journey through the Yorkshire Dales. Pennyghent, and Ingleborough still had a covering of snow.
On the return journey we had one of the best sunsets I have ever seen.

Had a nice lunch in a cafe right on the sea front, with a superb view of the bay, and finished off with a drink in the Midland Hotel.
It was our friends first visit to Morecambe, and we were so glad they enjoyed it as much as us.
Those views across the bay will take some beating anywhere.

We will all sleep well tonight!
