The ruins of St Mary's Abbey, York.

I have just spent ages writing this and Blip has lost it!!

So a shortened version!
Missed train to Morecambe. (bus connection late!)
Went to York instead. (on the bus. Free with bus passes)
Spotted the new restaurant, just opened, called
The Star Inn The City. The star web page.
Went for lunch.
Place great. Mixture of old and new.
Staff very friendly, but not too over the top.
Food fantastic!
Two chef's Ale-braised Ox Cheek, with Blue Wensleydale Beetroot and Juniper Risotto, stockpot Carrots, Garden Thyme Fuices.
With a glass of red wine.Ginger Parkin with Rhubarb Ripple Ice Cream, Hot Spiced Syrup. Served with a shot of Rhubarb Schnappa.
Shared between the two of us!

Nice walk round York in the sunshine.
Bus back home.

So one door shuts and another opens!
A great day out!
