Unusual flower

This is growing in an old pot, I have never seen anything quite like it. Doesn't mind the hot weather and hasn't had a drink so must be tough. I took a blip of it a few weeks ago and here it is in full flower, covered by little ants.

It has been identified as an Eucomis by my gardening blip mate in England, Devon Dumpling who wanted to see it flowering. My last blip was on the 6th January.
