Broken pane

What a day! Bright, crisp cold we sallied forth to meet our friends Robert & Finola for a day of rock art exploration. We rendezvoused in Skibbereen and fuelled with the most enormous scones headed for Lough Hyne. First stop a large and impressive standing stone decorated with at least 22 cupmarks. The area had been cleared especially for us and afterwards we were invited in for tea and barmbrack at Mary's house where the chat was mighty. We then went down to the Lough to find some stones at the water's edge, so far unrecorded. As chance would have it we met the resident expert out having a brisk walk on her lunch break and she showed us where they were. Amazing how anyone ever found these for they lie amongst many other stones and get covered at high tide.  We then visited a holy well and ancient church - amazing colours and views all around us. Wrecked now!

A skype with son#2   this morning who arrived back home after his New Zealand jaunt - what a fantastic time they've had but PigDog was pleased to see them.

And answer to yesterdays question - MichaelP was spot on. Yes, it was fabric roses in a bowl filled with water but bowls that are used as a foral tribute on graves - a double exposure.

Today's blip, a broken window and encroaching brambles for Derelict Thursday. Off to have a browse.
