Yellow Ones.. Today

After some heavy showers of rain over night, which has been fantastic for the garden and the farmers would be pleased.. today has been sunny for most of the time, but very cold indeed. There is snow down to 600m on the hills. I haven't gone out again today because that wind was just too cold so it has to be one of my yellow Jockey Caps.

Jockey Cap is the common name for them, they come species from the genus Tigridia, in the Iridaceae family and are called Tigridia Pavonia. You can see why they get called Jockey Caps with their bright silky colours. Here is my blip from yesterday of the red ones.

Today is Waitangi Day and is a public holiday. There is a Electric Avenue Music Festival in Hagely Park today which is so loud we can hear it in the house. It was to start at 11:00am but they were playing at 9:00am.. and goes to 10:00Pm. Souds like they are having a lot of fun.

Up date on my new camera.. I got a email saying it is out of stock just now and I can either wait of get a refund. After talking to my son he found out that model has been recalled because of a fault. I asked for the refund but they got back to touch and wanted me to wait a month before refunding. That wasn't good enough.. so we told them what we know and said we wanted a refund now and if they got some sock in that had the fault fixed we would be happy to go with that.. hadn't heard back from them yet!

Here is link to a clip of the Christchurch earthquake documentary going nationwide on TV at the end of this month. It is Confronting and "raw" footage from interviews with six Cantabrians in the aftermath of the February 2011 earthquake. People from Christchurch may find it hard to watch.. but for people who don't live in Christchurch may find they have a bit more of a understanding how the February earthquake affected and people and the city.
