Today was spent looking at beautiful textile embroideries and visiting some of the villages where the work is done. The women are encouraged to continue making their traditional patterns and NGO's make sure that it has an outlet and can be sold at a proper price. Quite cross eyed with it all! On the journey back through the desert we both saw a huge lake and wondered why we hadn't seen it on the way out – but it moved with us and turned out to be a very convincing mirage. Saw a couple of mongooses and later lots more tribal women wearing their very ornate costumes and heavy ethnic silver and gold jewellery. There were several wedding processions to watch and even more religious ones – each followed the same pattern though of loud music from a mobile cart covered with loud speakers, a band, each playing their own tune regardless of the others, men dancing at the head of the procession, women dancing behind . Exhausting!
