May your rice bowls always be full

It's that time again, time to decorate for Lunar New Year (and to explain, I'm not Asian, but having lived in Singapore for that long I do like to follow this just a bit, also because it fills up the dark days before Spring really starts). This year it falls on February 19, when the Year of the Goat will begin. My husband was born in the Year of the Goat, which means this year he'll have a very special celebration (but that's still some time away). One of the ways to decorate is to hang small red and gold decorations on branches, either bare ones or branches with spring blossom or catkins. The ones I'm showing here are mini rice containers, they're referring to the wish that the new year will be a prosperous one so that your rice bowl will always be full.

Thanks very much for your comments, stars and fave for yesterday's robin :-)
