Plus ça change...

Light

Out feeding the birds at lunchtime (they've been sorely neglected in these last few days) some white stuff started falling from the sky.  The kids were beyond excited.  It was more hail than snow, and was over almost before they'd got to the door to look, but it brought a little light and joy to their day!

Otherwise, it was a day of cups of tea, cake (I'm backblipping, but I think this might have been the day I baked loads) and sleeping for my poorly friend.

Late in the day, the menfolk were due back from skiing in Andorra.  The plan was that they'd go to Toulouse airport, four would fly home and two (Mr B and Mr Guest) would hire a new car and come here.

Instead, I had a call about 6pm that the road north (to France) was closed and they would have to go via Spain.  So they'd miss their flight. So would I mind awfully making up beds for four extra guests...

A sortie to the loft proved that we did, turned out, have enough duvets for everyone to be warm.  And so plans were made, the freezer was raided for snacks and dinner was made for those of us already here.

Later, a call that they'd managed to get flights from Barcelona so it would only be one extra guest, arriving chez nous at 2am...

And so, after more than 10 hours in the car, and with industrial quantities of medicinal coffee inside them, they arrived, variously drank mint tea and wine and slept.

In comparison to them, my day was very laid back.

EDIT: spot the cement mixer.
