Riding Side-car

This morning we took a motorbike and sidecar up to Noppharat Thara National Park which is at the far end of a beautiful long beach. We knew that there was a monument to the tsunami victims there, but it took us some time to find it, and it's now pretty dilapidated and the wooden walkways to get to it are quite broken and dangerous, so that's a shame.
Near to there we noticed a look-out tower with sirens on the top. It's un-manned so I guess that in the event of a tsunami, someone has to climb up there.
Every kilometre or so there are signs reading "Tsunami evacuation route" and they point to the nearest way leading uphill. Some are marked as being over a kilometre away, so that would be a long way to run in an emergency.
We walked most of the way back along the long beach, and  stopped for lunch at a place called "Mr Kai". We had to go there when we saw the name, as our elder grandson is called Kai. C had squid in a spicy salad with a bottle of local beer, and I had prawns and a bottle of water. This was probably our cheapest meal so far at around £6 all in, but it was also excellent so we may return on our last night here for dinner - not because it was cheap, but because it was so good, and in the evenings they make up a barbeque and cook the fish on there.
I took this photo from our sidecar on the way back this afternoon. You can see the beach on the right, and the cliffs as well.
