Reflections of China

Its Monday, so its this week's Mono Monday Challenge which is on the subject of China.

On St Thomas Street in Bristol (around the corner from my office) there is the Kin Yip Hon Chinese Supermarket.  it is a fascinating place and sells a wide range of asian ingredients as well as cooking equipment. It is also next door to Dynasty, one of Bristol's many Chinese restaurants.  The restaurant gets good reviews and is well thought of. We've been known to nip there for lunch when things aren't too busy at work.

St Thomas Street itself is in Redcliffe, a part of Bristol that borders the docks and was historically full of small low rise distribution warehouses and light industrial buildings.  In more recent years Bristol's office and residential sectors have been gradually creeping into this area and it has seen some regeneration.  The restaurant and supermarket pre-date this rise in the area's fortunes, having been open for a good 10 years to my knowledge.

As you can see from the picture, the supermarket's shop window looks in on the back of their shelves of Chinese crockery.  I'm sure that you will see what I've done there.  Please accept my apologies, but I couldn't resist the china from China gag.
