The tandoor potter bodges her clay with cow dung

This lady was making tandoor ovens - you can see the different stages behind her.  She mixes in some cow dung with stalks in it for added strength.  It will not be kiln dried but the new owner will light his fires inside and so do it that way. Ambled round the old city of Udaipur  revelling in the absence of grasping hands and imploring voices asking me to enter/feel/touch/buy - such a pleasure to be able to stand and watch and see how things are made for as long as I wanted.  Saw indigo dying of old stained trousers for recycling, tie dye, huge chapattis being made, pots being thrown on hand driven wheels, men coming home from the Mosque (one here) - wonderful day finishing with a delicious home cooked meal in a friend's house (I helped make the maize breads).

Thank you to everyone who looks, comments and gives stars and hearts - they are greatly appreciated.   It is impossible to reciprocate, I'm sorry, but even uploading this has taken an hour and a half tonight - the connections keep going and so we start again...
