The 1745 house

I had a meeting today at the 1745 house at Dunollie, down below the iconic Dunollie Castle, seat of the MacDougall family for more than 1,000 years. The ivy-covered tower overlooks Oban Bay and is much photographed by holidaymakers from the Mull ferry.

The house is now a museum containing the Hope MacDougall collection, a huge number of family artefacts recording local social history.

Our local branch of the Scottish Wildlife Trust will be holding our Fund-raising Day at Dunollie on Saturday 6th June, so do please put the date in your diaries if you live locally!
