Moreton Bay Fig tree

Travelled up to the Bay of Islands and are staying in the delightful old capital of NZ called Russel. There were two huge passenger liners out on the bay and aboard one of the were our friends JR and D! After a comedy of errors we did not meet up with them but quite a coincidence to be in the same place at the same time both so far from home!

The photo shows M standing underneath an old Moreton Bay fig tree planted around the late 1860s. Next to that is NZs oldest pub, the Duke of Marlborough, where we had a very fine meal - M said the fish chowder is the world's best.

How fine life is.
