Losing It in London

Squizz & I caught the coach to London because we'd been invited to the launch for Helen Lederer's novel Losing It which comes out today.

We headed in a little early so we could stock up on dark chocolate M&Ms for Squizz's stash - the pre-Christmas supply having just run out - and to have a wander around Waterstone's Piccadilly and have a look at the new Foyles flagship store on Charing Cross Road (it's, er, market research).

Foyles is a thing of beauty: a tranquil bookish haven and I didn't want to leave. But leave we did once my partner in bookish events, Mandy, turned up. (If only after we'd found where we'll be on the shelves when we're both published and had snaffled some cake in the cafe!)

Helen's launch was held at the Hospital Club and it was packed full with friends. It was such a fun, warm (in both senses of the word!) evening. A lovely way to send a book out into the world.

And happily, this time I managed to catch the last bus home.
