But, then again . . . . .

Portobello Beach.

We started off Valentine's Day by going to the DIY shop to look at wallpaper to repair the damage the decorator did just before Christmas; there was also something about zip ties and duct tape which I didn't understand, perhaps Mrs TD will explain it to me later; we didn't actually buy anything as we only get a pensioners' discount on Wednesdays. While we were there we had a quick coffee and a toasted tea-cake so that herself could take some medication, she insisted that she wanted a whole tea-cake but ended up only eating a half which meant that I had to eat her other half; that had repercussions later.

After that, since we weren't far away, we took Merlin along the beach for a walk. The sun did try to come out to play while we were there - it just didn't try very hard. I liked this picture, the scene reminded me of Bruegel’s work, he tended to populate his paintings with people rather aimlessly going about their business oblivious to the really important things in life.

After that we went to a new eatery for a celebratory meal, it was pretty good though that was when I regretted the tea-cake. The day ended with Herself watching the end of a foreign thriller on the box (the only trouble being that it didn't seem to have an end) while I mixed failing to understand Jnr's homework with failing to fix a neighbour's computer.
