Full Blown Tulips

These white tulips have survived three weeks in a vase. Probably keeping them in a cool conservatory has helped. I rather like their blousy appearance now. They remind me of little boys at weddings who arrive with perfect kit but by the end of the reception everything has gone haywire with shirt tails out,  ties askew, and socks crumpled round their ankles! Still life artists have often featured the flamboyant appearance of full blown tulips, especially in 16th, 17th and 18th century botanical art.
