new series coming soon on Channel 4

Despite the scrappiness it is at least congruent with the shopfront due to being painted with the same paint. Hopefully (I didn't check) the shopfront is a little tidier and less drippy. The raw, honest and vérité feel to the sign does rather suit the simple and direct nature of the shop and almost compels one to stop and take notice. Especially when it's blocking what's left of the pavement after a bus stop and twenty people have been at it.

I think I almost managed to impart to my boss exactly how much work is involved in what was sold as a relatively quick and possibly even possible option in a meeting this afternoon. In any case he now at least expects (if not eagerly anticipates) the flex-piles of myself and my left-hand colleague to grow considerably before the end of the year. In any case it was boss rather than people who trundled away from the meeting with a notepad covered in many items of scrawl at which he was staring blackly and muttering darkly. Quite a cheering way to end a Friday. He should really have been thankful for this new knowledge; he learnt quite a lot today: not only the amount of work to do but also (earlier) the principle by which a vacuum flask works and that the fat used in the pastry of the pies he is compelled by birthplace to consume is generally harvested from around the kidneys and pelvic area of the source-beast.

Not so cheering content-wise was the DVD of |Red Road though as a film it was very nice featuring lots of nice photography of an area not generally regarded as particularly scenic.
