A pint? That's very nearly an armful!

The big question today was could I fit in everything I wanted to do.....it was tight, but I managed it, just!

I started work at quarter to ten and for once I drove down so that I could whizz off when I finished. It was busy pretty much from the off, but pleasantly so. I should have worked to the bitter end, but when I said I was hoping to fit in giving blood I was able to leave early as they could cope without me. (Sometimes I wonder if this is a good thing....yes, it is great to be able to leave, but when they can manage without me so easily it is a worry).

Well I had tried to get an appointment but they had been fully booked. I'd had emails and texts saying how blood stocks are low so I chanced a walk in. They said there would be a wait...and boy was there a wait. My timings was crucial...I left work at 2:45, I was due to meet up with the coven at 4pm for a birthday afternoon tea for Witch 1....I thought I could squeeze an armful out in time.

I met a few people I knew and we had a laugh as we waited. I kept my eye on the time...and it ticked away. They gave me a sheet to read that said....make a fist and pump the hand to help the flow of blood, tighten bum muscles and cross and uncross legs. So I squished out the blood and came away with a pert bum...I wish ha ha.

"Don't have any alcohol for the rest of the day," was the parting instruction....Hah....I was off for a champagne afternoon tea!

A pint of blood later I was on the way to the coven...only a hour late. Luckily they hadn't eaten much and I soon delved in. It was delicious and a magical time was had by all.

I now know why they say don't drink alcohol...I could only manage one glass and I am now completely wiped out!!
