Gobble gobble

The last day of karneval, and so the last day to overindulge in berliners, I think 1 a day for the last 10 days is probably too much don't you? Have to wait till pre New Year for the extensive choice to to return - probably a good thing!

Today was kind of a bank holiday here, I say 'kind of' because some companies are closed* (all schools are) and some shut at lunchtime, some shops are open all day, some shut at lunchtime...and this is not a countrywide holiday either, we seem to live in a karneval pocket, with parades yesterday and today.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow, the natives will revert to their usual sober selves, having washed and packed away their fancy dress outfits this evening.
