SCOTSWOOD BRIDGE

I was still in bed when the phone rang.  It was my daughter Becky -  walking and talking during her lunch hour.  We had a good catch up.  In the end she didn't have her wisdom tooth taken out on Friday.  They took an X Ray and the dentist said she would need general anesthetic as it was going to be a tricky one to remove.  She may have to wait as long as 18 weeks for an appointment.  She was a bit miffed as she wants it all over and done with ASAP.

Later on I walked down to the village for a bit of shopping.  Back home to do a few chores and then off to the village again for my slimming meeting.  No change in my weight this week.  At least I didn't put any weight on.

Big excitement at the meeting this week.  On Wedneday Iceland will start to sell Slimming World ready meals - syn free.  Slimming World do encourage you to cook from scratch but they realise that not everyone has the time - or inclination - every day so these meals will be  very handy. If you like the meal and want to make it yourself the recipe is on the pack.  I think the local Iceland shops are going to be  invaded by Slimming World members this week  - hope they have a lot of stock.

The Mono Monday challenge today is bridge.  Well there are no bridges in the village but behind Tesco you can get a lovely view over the Tyne and you can see this bridge - The Scotswood Bridge.  I had to zoom in quite a lot to get this shot.  The bridge links the West end of Newcastle on the North bank to Blaydon and The Metrocentre on the South bank.   It opened in 1967.  It is a box girder bridge and carries a dual carriageway road. It is 3 miles upstream from the better known bridges over the Tyne.
